The Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness
Opened in 1999, the Ritchie Center is named after DU's 16th chancellor, Daniel L. Ritchie, who raised money to build the Center. The 440,000-square-foot building is open to students and the public and features nine sporting and event venues.
The presidential debate joins a long list of events hosted inside the Arena, including NCAA ice hockey and basketball, concerts, speaker/lecture series, graduations and more.
The Arena is 80,000 square feet. Depending on the size of the hosted event and configuration, the Arena seats anywhere from 5,500 to 8,000 people.
Magness Arena is also fully equipped with audio and video support, making it the ideal on-campus location for the first 2012 presidential debate hall.
