The University will convert Magness Arena (inside the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports and Wellness) into the 2012 presidential debate hall.
The area of campus immediately surrounding the Center will be reserved for the all debate coverage resources—including parking, technical setup, satellite access, power sourcing and more.
We'll post a media rate card with fees for services and equipment use as the debate nears.
This information will be updated as details become available, so please check back for specific information or changes.
The Commission on Presidential Debates handles all media credentialing for the presidential debates.
Media parking: The Ritchie Center
For the week leading up to the debate, we've reserved parking surrounding the Ritchie Center for members of the media.
Media transportation
We encourage members of the media to use public transportation to travel to campus. Denver's Regional Transporation District (RTD) operates a light rail train and buses that serve the campus area.
Light rail
The University of Denver light rail station is at Buchtel Boulevard and High Street, across the street from the debate venue.
To get to and from the station, use lines E, F or H, as noted on the RTD light rail map (PDF).
Buses
The most direct bus route numbers to campus are the 24, which stops on University Boulevard, and the 21, which stops on Evans Boulevard.
Use RTD's Trip Planner to find connecting routes and the best way to get here.
See the RTD website for information about fares and schedules.
Free shuttles
We'll provide free shuttles from designated hotels and the Ritchie Center on a regular basis for journalists.
Pre-debate media offices: The Cable Center
Starting five days before the debate, the media can begin working out of the Cable Center, off Buchtel Boulevard, just east of High Street. The Center has conference rooms and workspace with televisions, Web access and other accommodations.
You'll be able to sign up for workspace closer to the date of the debate.
Media filing center
During the debate, Hamilton Gymnasium in the Ritchie Center will serve as a working press room for journalists. The Gymnasium is near the debate arena separated only by a hallway.
To learn more about the Ritchie Center, see our Ritchie Center Facts sheet (PDF).
